Painting in open air is a race against time. The light changes quickly across the landscape as paintings take time to develop. It’s apart of my painting practice as it does a few things: it helps me notice details more, it helps me practice quick decisions, it get’s me outside, I have a lot of fun with it, and I get to tell a beautiful story in each piece.

I mostly use palate knife to execute the work on a prepared and grounded (primed) panel board. I love the texture, the strokes, and the layering. It’s much like building up from a foundation.
